Introduction
Enhancing meaningful participation of indigenous women through feminist participatory action research project has been implementing National Indigenous Women Forum (NIWF) in partnership with NIDWAN with the grants support of South Asia Women Fund (SAWF) in Tarevir of Gokarneshwor Municipality- 3, Kathmandu and Nibugaun of Melamchi Municipality – 2, Sindhupalchowk for a total of 24 months.
The overall objective of the project is to increase meaningful participation of marginalized indigenous women in local policy and development processes through feminist participatory action research.
The intended key results of the project include:
- Indigenous women of the target areas empowered through feminist participatory action research to assess their present situation,
- Knowledge, advocacy, and leadership capacities of indigenous women of the target areas increased to claim their rights, participate in local policy and development and access to public services and facilities, and
- Research findings published to share and utilized as an advocacy tool in
relation to indigenous women’s participation and inclusion in the local development process.
