On the 5th of December 2022, NIWF was extended with a platform for discussion based on Introduction to Community Radio and Policy-Making for Community Radios in Nepal by the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters- Asia Pacific (AMARC-AP) Regional Office in Nepal.
The intent of the discussion revolved around reflecting on the ongoing Community Radio policies with more diverse and inclusive experts from different communities, including women-centered, people with disabilities, indigenous women communities, media specialists, and more.
The discussion focused on law and policy-making for community radio, Government and Policy- Makers’ role in creating a safe accessible space for community radio, Inclusivity in community radio, Journalist Monopoly versus Community Participation in radio, and facilities for community radio in Nepal. NIWF’s Media and Communications Officer, Reya Shreya Rai attended the discussion.
